REGION - Clare Valley

VINIFICATION & WINEMAKING - The 2022 vintage in Clare Valley gave exceptional conditions where the average February ripening temperatures were relatively cool, which led to an elevation in varietal characters. The Calcanniavineyard boasts sandy loam over alluvial clay, enriched with sedimentary rocks, ensuring optimal drainage and providing essential minerals for vine growth. The grapes showcase richness and a muscular fleshy character, embodying a luscious palate length. Following the harvest of nine tones of fruit, fermentation took place in an open concrete fermenter, then matured for 15 months in French and American oak hogs heads to add depth and refinement.

COLOUR- Dark purple.

NOSE - Revel in the delightful and fragrant expressions of blackcurrant, blackberry and dried herb aromas.

PALATE- Experience a ripe and rounded palate, brimming with intense fruit flavours of plum and cassis. Integrated fine tannins and fresh acidity provide excellent support, leading to a long and clean finish.

FOOD MATCH - Char-grilled steak accompanied by roasted vegetables, or a succulent lamb shank with red wine jus.
